can schools see if you used score choice or not?
like if i decided to send only subject tests, would the school know that i didn't send everything?

columbia doesn’t allow score choice and therefore requires you to submit all test scores. if you decide not to report your SAT scores, which they require, you would look deceptive and stupid for not following directions. regardless of whether or not they find out, that would not reflect well on your application…plus, columbia will always consider your highest scores. send them all in.

Wait, I’m confused. Do they want the scores from all the attempt from the two subjects I want them to use? Or all in general.

I sent all my scores from Math I, Math II, Chem, and Bio, but I didn’t send US History scores. Did I mess this up? Will they know I didn’t send these scores?

Columbia wants all of your standardized test scores, whether SAT I, SAT Subject Tests, or ACT. Check out the website.

I just resent all my scores. Thankfully I still have free score reports left.

I just hope they don’t laugh my way to the rejected pile when they see my 1840 on the SAT. How do they know that I only want them to consider the ACT, which I got a 30 on twice (which is still low for Columbia, I know)?

columbia says it will only consider (aka count) your highest test (and it converts the ACT to an SAT number) so even if they see you did poor in one SAT sitting, they will see and only consider the higher ACT number. as you note it is a bit below columbia’s par, but the average numbers are more of a barometer, there is a whole lot else that goes into your application including what else you have to offer and where you come from.
