Score Curve Approximations

You can use this curve (derived from December 2007) to see what you got this time around.

Note that this is a rough approximation because all curves are different.
Good Luck everyone!!!

E:
-8 is around a 30

Enjoy!!

Thanks a lot for posting this… it makes me feel a little better about not finishing the math (#@%$!). Science curve looks rough, but hey, maybe I’ll get my 35. Or if the planets are aligned in my favor, a 36, lol.

my science score is going to be horrible compared to my other scores

This may be a stupid question, but as someone who finds the science section to be the most difficult by far, why does it always have a significantly worse curve than the other 3 subjects? It’s the only section that I get more than 1 or 2 problems wrong on, and the only I don’t finish completely, and yet I’m penalized for it more than I would be on the other tests.

Damn. If the science is so hard, then why is the curve always the worst?

i know i only missed 3 MAX on the math and about 4 or the English. Im worried about science and reading. The genotype passage on the science was hard. :(

I’m wondering the same thing. The consensus (especially for this test) is that science was a beast. So can we expect a much better curve -perhaps a -15 is a 35 ;)

^ yeah i am predicting a nice curve for science this time around

I still don’t understand why science always has the worst curve when so many people find it to be the hardest section…

I still don’t understand why the science section is even on the ACT… that’s one of many reasons I will always prefer the SAT. Ugh.

I still don’t understand why the science section is even on the ACT… that’s one of many reasons I will always prefer the SAT. Ugh.

I completely agree, it doesn’t even have anything to do with scientific knowledge, it’s just a “tables, graphs, and convoluted experiments” section.

I agree with you all!

Math was easy and has the easiest curve? What is this?

Science was like DAMN…what da hell? I think -10 should be 36.

The curves change to keep a nice bell graph. I have a feeling that the math curve will be a bit harsher, and the science curve a bit easier.

I don’t want the curve on Math to be harsher =( I’m totally cool with a minus 4 being a 34! Or maybe even -6! Be nice ACT!

How is the science section hard? its just analyzing simple graphs

I didn’t think it was hard. But it seams like everyone else does.

The inheritance one might have been confusing if you didn’t take bio though

don’t they change these every time? i think that’s what someone once told me when comparing the sept. act and the april act…

True. I think the hardest part was to ignore the types of measurements, and just use the logic of the numbers.

It’s only hard based on time constrictions since they give you less than a minute per question so you really have to tackle the questions before you actually read whats going on in the graphs LOL. Other than that I found what it asked extremely easy. Question though… I didn’t need to take the ACT’s, just took them to see if i could do well, so if I don’t have them send the scores anywhere, can I get the scores sent without taking them again once i get the scores?
