Score curve??!! What does it mean??

wow, before I looked here I thought I knew what score curving was...

I searched this entire thread to see whether someone had posted explanations :D

Yes. I don't know which one but either one or both of these. What I am wondering is, do they have enough time to analyze all the test takers' answer choices and how many wrong or right in each difficulty level.
Don't worry about it too much. If you prepare well, you will get a great score.

Yeah. I guess it's what Serafina said. I don think it depends upon how students answer, cos I remember people discussing these score curves immediately after a test.

The (fairly complicated) details of how the SAT curves work is in this Collegeboard paper.

If you would like to see how the SAT math curves can vary, see this pdf.

The basic idea of the curve is simple: suppose you take the SAT twice and on each test you get two wrong in math, for a raw score of 52. The first time you get a 750, the second time you get a 770. How is this possible? The 2nd test was a little harder than the first, so two wrong should be a better score on the 2nd test. People will say that the first test was "easy" or had a "harsh curve", same thing.

You generally don't know what the curve was until a week or two after score reports hit the web, but everyone loves to speculate :)
