I took the SATs again and I anticipate the following:

800M
720CR
700-800W (could be anywhere in between)

Based on that my score will be between 2220 and 2320. How much difference will the two scores make if I have good grades, SAT IIs, leadership, essays etc.)? Please consider that I am an Indian international.

Enquiring because I heard people with 1900 SAT can also get in if they have exceptional amount of leadership.

I think for AEM, it really comes down to “fit”. Of course the higher the score, the better, but the adcoms are probably looking more for “fit” than anything else. If your EC’s and essays can show that you truly belong, then you will get in. But as always, when it comes down to very similar applicants, the one with the higher score will definitely get the upper hand.

Alright thanks a lot. What do you reckon is the average score for AEM? I know it doesn’t look at the writing score so where does a 1520/1600 place me?

thats pretty good. i agree with above, AEM has a lot to do with fit b/c theres a lot of people w/ good scores and AEM only accepts a fraction of them…

i know in the past, a lot of people transferred into AEM from other majors in Cornell. so some poeple got into cornell and then transferred… i dont know if its still that easy to transfer though
