score recount?

has anyone ever done this before? I was pretty confident about one of my subject tests but the score was just horrible.... do score reports come with each testing? if that's the case I want to wait until after they come out to do a recount but I'm not sure since I didn't order one.

We requested hand scoring for my son’s Bio-M SAT II 2 years ago - he had done very well in AP Bio & felt strongly that his score (660) was wrong. After hand scoring, his corrected score was 780. Cost $50, which College Board said they would refund if it was their mistake - evidently it wasn’t! But glad we did it!

Did you wait until after you received the score report?

Because I just took physics and I expected ~800 but I was shocked with a 670 this morning… I skipped 6 questions and probably missed 3-4 but with the curve that should come close to an 800.

Same boat… I think i missed like 3-4 on math II, but i got a 600. Should I also have my score recounted?

omg guys me too!

i omitted 5 math II questions and thought i got none wrong…i ended up getting a 700
apparently i should be getting an 800

should i rescore?

similar situation here… got a 730 :frowning: considering rescore.
so exactly how does the process work? when do you do it?
can you rescore only one test if you took three?
and what happens if your score is lower after the rescore?

how many did you think you omitted/got wrong?

omit = 2, wrong = ~3. what score is that? thought it was a lot higher than 730…

that should be about 790 from what i hear…

that’s what i thought, too. hmm… i may just do the recount then…
but when should i sign up, and how does it work?

guys, i would say if theres a significant difference from a previous score or you just dont want to take it again, go for rescore. I’m in a similar boat as you guys. Although not good, i got a 710 on literature the first time. This morning i checked and i got a 620. Idk but a 90 point difference seems kind of big to me. Ill consider getting a rescore.

ill tell you my opinion is one sec i just have one question…did you take any other tests, because if you do rescore those get scored too and it gets costly

I did  I took Chem (770) and USHistory (770). Is there no way I can only rescore one? I’m okay with the other two…

@ jennieblue22: with 2 omits and 3 wrong answers, your raw score is a 44.25. That puts you in the ballpark for an 800, in fact.

Can someone also explain the process of rescoring to me? I’m very confused as to why I got the score I did.

i dont think so i heard you must do them all

heres my advice:

if you have the money and feel confident that those 770s are deserved (because they can go down) that you should get it rescored

a 730 is descent but a 790 is impressive…its worth it. unless you just want to retake

I have the money but prefer not to part with it  but I will if it helps me…
So if you get lower, the scores can actually go down?! That’s scary… :(

I think the wisest thing to do at this point is wait for July 6, when the score reports come out. That way, you can use the actual numbers to recalculate your score. If there was an error, then by all means request a rescore.

hey guys, i’m considering getting a recount as well.
i got a 700 bioM
750 math2c.

i was confident that i would get 800’s in both (thats what the barrons and official practice tests told meh). do these scores seem a little too high to be mistakes on collegeboard’s part?

thanks

Not at all - I got a 760 on the Math IIC, meaning my raw score would have to be 40. Since I know for sure that I omitted only 1 question, a 40 would mean that I got 7 questions wrong, which I’m pretty sure I didn’t. In fact, when I left the test room, the number of questions I was expecting to get wrong was only about 3 or 4.

cool, thanks fledgling.
i’m going to wait for the score reports to come out and then request a re score. [:
