Hello,
so I just received an email from the college board stating that all SAT score reports ordered on or after the 14th of october are experiencing a delay, which appears to be the case for me. would it be a problem for my application or is it okay if they receive the report a few days after the nov1 deadline?
It depends on the school. You need to call the admissions department and check. My son is in the same boat. (We received the same email) CB said that they are hoping to get all scores out today.
CB has alerted colleges of this situation, -although I think CB is not telling the whole story as they told UMD that it is only affecting people who took the Oct SAT… My son didn’t take Oct Sat he merely sent June scores requested on Oct 19 and then he rushed them on Oct 25 (bc that was CB’s suggestion to get the scores there- neither scores are there)
UMD says they will accept after Nov 1 for people that took the Oct Sat and had this happen to them… but they don’t say anything about people that didn’t take the Oct SAT and still had this happen to them…
It’s not a big administrative burden for Harvard or any other college to add SAT scores to your file when they come in. And it’s not like Harvard and CB don’t communicate with one another daily, or that every year CB doesn’t have some problems. What’s a mess is applications themselves, with their supplements, and supplemental materials, and school reports, and recommendations. Applications filed tomorrow aren’t going to be sorted out completely for a week or two. Harvard isn’t going to refuse to consider an SCEA applicant whose other materials are timely because CB took an extra week to deliver test scores. It hasn’t done that in the past, and it won’t this year, either.
