Score Reporting before Applying: do they appreciate the irony?

Let's say I send in my score report to Timbuktu University.

Now, these guys haven't even heard from me ever before. Also, I haven't applied, registered on their website, nothing whatsoever.

So, when they get my score, are they going to keep it safely, and assume I will apply in the coming months?

Or are they going to bin my score and not care?

Thanks for letting me be stupid.
House

Are you sure you are a good “fit” for Tumbuktu? I think they are more liberal arts.

I took the ACT in October of my junior year, and being young and foolish, had my scores sent to four universities. When I actually applied more than a full year later, I sent a sheepish email asking if they still had my scores or if I should request they be resent. They said yes, they still had them and there was no need to re-send.

Thus, I feel it would be fine to send them ahead of your applications.

Thanks tocollege, you’ve been instrumental in averting a panic attack :)

Is it better to just send the scores when you first take the SAT/ACT, or wait till you actually apply?

I live for your praise GregoryHouse. ;)

Computerized, it depends on when you are taking them. If you have plenty of time before applications are due, it doesn’t hurt to wait and see which scores present you in the best possible light and then send only those scores.
