Scores 200+ points better from the first or second time

I know this sort of thread already exists, but I couldn't find it. I know by studying independently for the SAT for a month or so, my score jumped my by quite alot. I would appreciate if all of you would post the number of point you went higher. And I must to all of you that you should feel proud that you went higher and worked for it. Congratulations everyone!!!

570V --> 700Cr
600M --> 760 M
Wr=730

bm95050 - how did you do? what did you do exactly - most specifically the critical reading part?

640 --> 760 (CR)
800 --> 760 (M)
660 --> 610 (W) T_T

Before my first SAT, I studied a good deal. Between the first and second time I took it, all my time was spent either relaxing after the first one or studying for my APs.

scareya, I went over some old tests and my number 1 strategy would be: Make yourself LIKE and actually CARE about the passages for those 3 hours of your life (It'll be well worth it) and you can't let the test intimidiate you. Good Luck.

M 580 -----> 680

That's the only thing I'm happy about on the June SAT.

What did you do to improve virtuso?

well i took the june sat and it was my second time. i was extremely relaxed, had memorized about 2000 words, had worked well (especially more than most people who did better than I did), found math unexpectedly easy, but still only raised my score for 20 points. i feel stupid...

Scareya I just did a lot of practice before the test. So 3 weeks before the test I got PR 11 practice tests and did two sections a night and saw what I did wrong. Of course the blue book would work too but it didn't have explainations.

i went up quite a bit from my first take

580 CR -> 640 CR
600 W -> 720
690 MATH -> 730

so in total 60+120+40= 220 :)

hoping to retake lol.... i really wanted > 2100 and at least 680 CR

I got a 720 CR, 740 M,740 W. The literature that I received with the scores indicated that with the numbers I received ,statistically if I took the test again my numbers would DROP and not improve. I am very pleased with my numbers and I am not taking the test again. Those numbers are good enough for all of the lacs I am applying to.

690 CR->800 CR
690 m->690 M
640 (7) W->780 (12) W

So a 250 point improvement betweeen Dec and June.

I think finishing up my AP Lang and Comp class helped a lot. I took about 6 prac from the blue book. The writing has very defined patterns and they use the same questions with just different words almost every time. The writing you just have to learn how to play their game and cross you fingers.

hey guys it is so nice to hear from all of you and congratulations on improving your scores so drastically. I guess a lot of studying and luck can do it for us. I improved as well.
m640-760
cr590-730
w590-610 :(

Well as for drastic changes in SAT scores tips try the practice tests from the blue collegeboard book and the boston test prep or number two sites. Although they may seem a bit simplistic, I think any and all practice will assist students who really want to do better.
For those of you who who went down or didn't do as well as you thought you could, well you still have a chance to study over the summer. good luck and congratulations

CR 540-650
Math 740-800
Writing 580-690

1st time i was wasted and had Junior Prom on the same day

2nd time i didnt study at all.. but atleast i was relaxed.

maybe i'll retake

^ "1st time i was wasted" haha.

730 WR --> 800 WR
I went from 76 to 80 on the MC, 8 to 9 on the essay.

1-2 MC + 1 pt essay = 70 pt increase
writing section = bogus

I have taken sat I just once that is this june and scored really bad.
560<cr> 670<m> 610<w>..Would taking the sat again help boost up my scores?????</w></m></cr>

Definetly. I went from a 1870 (around your composite score) in january to a 2060 in may. And you have all summer to practice.

i went from a 2090 to a 2370

+280

660cr > 670cr > 720cr
710m > 720m > 780m
600w > 770w < 740w
1970 - 2160 - 2240 (2270)

Jun - Nov - Jan
