I was wondering whether NYU would accept the November SAT scores. The test is going to be administered on November 2, after the NYU ED deadline which is Nov. 1. Do you think they would accept the scores if "rush-delivery" them from college board.

I don't think so. If you give collegeboard a few weeks to post scores, that already brings you to the end of November/early December. I think by the time they receive your November scores, decisions will already be made.

I think also they say the latest you can take the SAT for ED is the October time.

Here is the official answer from the Admissions b/b:

For Early Decision students, please be advised that exams taken prior to the November 1st Early Decision deadline will be the only results we can guarantee to be included in your review. As a result, you should not plan on taking exams later then the month of October if you would like them to be considered with your Early Decision application. Although scores from November examinations may reach our office before we have reviewed your Early Decision application, that is not alweays the case, and we are not able to guarantee that Novcember scores will be included in our review. Scores from December exams can not be considered for Early Decision candidates.

Regular Decision candidates also should have their standardized testing completed by the January 15th deadline. If, however, you would like to re-take any of the exams during the month of January, we can usually wait to review your application until these scores have arrived. We are processing a much larger applicant pool over a longer amount of time during the regular decision review and this generally gives us the flexibility to consider any January testing. Please make sure to indicate on your application if you plan on taking a January exam.

NYU requires two SAT II grades (I'm not sure about all of the schools, but I know CAS definitely does) and I was repeatedly told that it would be fine if I took my 2nd SAT II in November (I did that and I was accepted). This is just my opinion, but I think it may not be a good idea to rely on November to take the SAT I again because they just may not look at the new score if you have an old one. But if you need November for a second SAT II grade, I think they'd give it a look since it's a required portion of the application... not just something extra. That's just my logic, but it worked for me.

i had the same issue when i applied. i called and they said basically what elliot34 says. scores usually get to the colleges before they are posted online, though. i ended up waking up on the day of the exam and just deciding it wasn't worth it, though. i still got in with my crappy sat score from sophomore year :)
