I'm sure this question's already been asked, but I'll ask it anyway.

I took the ACT at the end of sophomore year (just for kicks, like a test run), and to my surprise I scored a 35 composite. I'm a junior now, halfway through the school year, and was wondering if I should take the SAT. Any extra info on SAT II would also be appreciated, I don't know much about it. Also, any info on "superscore" ACT (best from each category) would also be appreciated.

To reiterate: Should I take the SAT with a 35 ACT already? Also, should I retake the ACT, to see if I can score higher?

The answer depends on which schools you plan to apply to. There are a few schools that want standardized tests from junior/senior year. I don’t know what would happen if you didn’t take another test.

If you are comfortable with your subscores, then no real reason to retake the test, however, did you take the ACT with writing?

SAT IIs are short fairly easy tests. You can register for one and sit for 3 (on one test date)(and pay later). You can register for one and change which test you take. Most selective schools want Math and a Humanities. Take the Math II after pre-calc. For the most part, I would suggest to not bother with Math I.

Generally I would say to take the SAT II at the end of the applicable school year (for example if you are take APUSH now as a junior, take the US History test in June, don’t wait to take it in November of your senior year). SAT IIs are only for admissions, so you cannot wait to take them after (generally) January of your senior year, unless you plan to take a gap year before you apply to college.

I don’t know of any schools that superscore ACT, but there probably are some. If your composite is 35, you probably don’t want any subscores below 33.

I would not suggest retaking it to see if you can get a higher score, because you CAN get a lower score.
