Scores availability, rescheduling of test, and other generic questions

I have a quick question. I registered to take the SATs in January, but now I really don't want to take it because I already have a 1490, I haven't studied at all and my score is not very likely to improve anyway. The only problem is that I said in my apps that I would be sending scores after I took the SAT in January, but now I'm not going to do that. Will the CollegeBoard still send a score report to all the colleges I indicated when registering even if I don't show up??

I have absolutely no idea about this one. It would be kind of like CB to may you pay again. Can you e-mail them the question?

To quote from an email that I got from the CB when I asked a smiliar question, "In response to your inquiry, when candidates do not test no information is sent to colleges regarding the status" However, my question was regarding SAT II's, so you may want to email them and confirm before you pay for score reports to be sent.

BTW, if you get a reply from CB, come back and post it in this thread for future reference

You might want to let your schools know not to wait on your January scores. Otherwise, it's fine not to take it; collegeboard certainly won't care and won't send anything (they'll still take your money though).

But I don't want to pay more money for them to send my scores!!!!!

problem: don't want to take SAT
solution: tell the schools that something important came up (called to the old folks home to assist the elderly) and thus missing the SAT

Do the colleges already have your most recent score report, prior to the January test? If so, then you don't have any problems. If not, email College Board (or call them tomorrow) and ask if score reports will still be sent if you do not take the test. If they say no, then you'll have to either take the test or pay for the reports to be sent.

They won't send any reports if you don't take the test (not even your old scores) so if you don't already have scores sent you're either going to have to take the test or pay the $7/report.

Hi all,

I'm taking SAT II tomorrow as a standby. My concern is how am I gonna have the online score report at the same time with other test-takers. Anyone was in this situation before??? Should I call the collegeboard to ask for that??? Anyone, pleaseeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, if I order score reports to colleges via the registration FORM (not online), will the reports include my previous SAT scores or just the scores of the tests I'm taking tomorrow??? ANy input would be much appreciated!

Hey! I was going to take the SAT I today, but it was postponed due to snow. My test center hasn't announced what the new date will be (probably Feb 5th). I was wondering if it would be the same test as was administered today, or a different test. (probably different, right?) Would this make a difference at all to the overall curves or scores on the test, since a significant amount of students in the country will not be taking the test today?

Thanks!

Curves for an edition of a test are predetermined by the College Board, so no, the curve won't change.

It will be a different test--not the one given today.

Anyone??? I really have no clue about this standby thing!!!

Notice what the question of the day was on the CollegeBoard website.

Kelly was stunned that her neighbor had the ________ to inquire about borrowing her new snow blower considering the fact that he broke her old one.

(A) foresight
(B) temperament
(C) conviction
(D) audacity
(E) integrity

I am shocked that CollegeBoard has the audacity to create a sentence completion dealing with snow, especially when most of the Northeastern states (like here in NJ) are getting a lot of snow.

Will the date that our scores are available online be later because of the locations that had to push back the test due to weather? Does anybody know what date they'll be up on the site? Thanks!

Damn! I mean, uh, yeah, that's smart of them. Yeah, my writing SATII was postponed untill Feb. 5th. Do we get our scores two weeks late online?

Yes... yes, that's, uh, really interesting.

My December SAT got postponed last year and the scores appeared on the Wednesday right after the test. It'll probably take longer for Writing though.

^Heh, do i sense sarcasm? I dunno but the Yes...yes and "uhhh" seem like it :)
