Scores from a student that came in January from Spain

Hello! I came from Spain in January, my English was so bad but colleges are having consideration with me (already accepted by TAMU and UMD). I took last week 2 SAT Subject Tests, Math Lev.1 and Bio E. I scored 730 and 770 respectively. People from Harvard contacted me and motivated me to apply and to take these 2 necessary tests. What do you think about this? Do you think this is pointless (considering the 6% acceptance rate of Harvard)? I've even been interviewed by someone from Harvard...

Please comment!

When you say they contacted you, did you get an email or information in the mail?
Many people get contacted that way; we think it is away for them to keep their acceptance rate low. You think they are interested so you apply.

i received an email in which they told me that my scores and grades were amazing. A week later a harvard student from the recruitment program also contacted me, directly, and she was also convincing me.

No offense :). If Harvard contacted you…“Harvard”…you might be very very exceptional student. Please just tell me why do you think they contacted you? I am a senior with 4.0 uw gpa (very much tough courses) and 2200 SAT but rejected for this fall. I mean, did you invent anything? Are you winner of international olympiads?

i have no idea, but one thing that one harvard alumni told me was that coming from Spain ( not very well speaking english), now taking AP classes and with the highest grades in my classes, and even with some talents such as writting ( i want to be a novelist and i already have rough drafts, in spanish), drawing, disposition to help and tutor students, good recomendation and an international background ( because i am not spanish, i lived there for three years only, i lived almost my entire life in Peru), he told me that all these factors could provide me with good posibilities. I do not know, really, but i felt optimistic and applied.

No reason not to apply! Just make sure you apply to other places as well.
