Scores good enough to get into listed schools:

Hey everyone, I'm new here but I've had a lot of doubts about my top choice schools and I'd like to know what you guys think. I'm a high school junior!

Unfortunately, my GPA is pretty low at a 3.0 (but I'm expecting it to go up to a 3.2 or a 3.3 before I start applying to schools next year). I took my SATs in March and got an 1820 but I'm planning on taking them again and hopefully getting a 2000.

MARCH SAT: 680 Writing, 630 Reading, 530 Math, 10 Essay

My ACT scores have actually been a little better to me, originally I got a 26 composite with a 28 on english, 28 on reading, 22 on math and a 25 on science. I also got a 10 on my essay.

I just took my ACTs again in April and received a significantly higher score.

APRIL ACT: 29 Composite- 35 english, 33 reading, 27 science, 22 math, Essay has not come back yet.

Some schools I am looking at include:

McGill University in Montreal
University of South Carolina
College of Charleston
Ohio State University
North Carolina State University
University of Maryland at College Park
Boston University
University of Southern Florida

Thanks for any help! Do I have a shot at any of these even with a low GPA?

1800 is about right. But get around 2000 to be sure. Not sure with McGuill since I have no experience with Canadian colleges
