I haven't decided if I'll retake or not. I'd love to bring that math score up, though.

I realize this is a number of pages later, but I would retake that in your position. I'm not saying that's a bad score, it's phenominal. There is, however, a lot of room for improvement. On the next run through, focus on math in your studying, and see if you can bring it up. Since most colleges take composite scores, you won't lose your two 800s, but still have the opportunity to bring up math. But it all depends on whether or not you want to suffer through that godawful test again. Whatever you do, good luck to you.

680 Math
530 Verbal
650 Writing

RETAKING!!!

I was bit**ing right after i took it because i messed up so badly on the essay. I was right - I got an 8. It's not that bad though considering it was 3 paragraphs with 1 example and a rushed conclusion that was written during another section. I aced the rest of the writing though --->760

hmmm kobes2theholes... that sounds remarkbly similar to mine, except it had no conclusion at all. I got a 10 on the essay but only 71 raw points. If only...

While you are all freaking out, remember, if these scores are reflective of the general population (and with the CC posters these scores are probably higher) the scores will relate to EACH OTHER. For instance, you may have a 2000 and that could be really high compared to the average. The colleges are not looking at the writing right now, and they will not be making any decisions with regards to what the midrange of their applicants should be until they get all the stats to have something to compare to. Right now everything is wide open and if a large number of students went down say in math compared to earlier scores the colleges will note that.

Take some deep breathes, have some chocolate and take a nap!!!

Kobes... my friend got a 8 essay as well and 80 MC, but he got a 780 on Writing. So i'm confused as to how that happened...

For those people who are having trouble getting scores online- here's what happened to me: I looked at the website and under "My Scores" it didn't even say that I had taken the SAT. So I called customer service (which is usually awful...after 15 minutes of elevator music-"the website isnt working" "oh, ok, just go to the website!" "but its not working!" "right, so the website will answer all your questions, have a nice day!") and told them my problem. The guy who helped me put me on the elevator music for about 5 minutes while he ascertained that they are, in fact, having some issues with their website. Since it was their fault and not mine- they gave me my scores over the phone for free! So if you registered by mail and it doesn't show up that you took the March SAT- you may be having the same website problem and may be able to get free scores by phone. Hope that helps!

My scores, btw, are 760 M 760 W 800 CR= 2320 overall

im so confused about the essay...my friend said that she didn't come close to finishing her essay but she got an 11 and i finished mine and thought it was pretty good and got a 10? whats the deal?

i think vocab had a lot to do with it

i got
math 790 cr 770 writing 740 (essay 11)
i'm pretty damn happy with that. i'm done with the SAT

2h2h06:

"math 720
CR 550
writing 670
---1940 combined this is the worst day of my life"

lol, I think you're taking it a little too hard 2h2h06...

Oh, and citygirlsmom, I think you're absolutely right. I'm seeing a lot of scores around 2000 here at the cc boards. The cc'ers are generally speaking way better than average (I believe an informal averaging of cc'ers Jan SAT scores came out to around 1460) so a 2000 may not be as bad as it looks right now.

I'm thinking the CR curve is more like:

-0 800
-1 800
-2 770

And Math is:

-0 800
-1 790
-2 760

THe curve came out long before the actual test (at least according to Princeton Review):

Raw Score, Scaled Score
Math:54-800, 53-790, 52-760, 51-740, 50-720, 49-710, 48-700, 47-680, 46-670...and so forth

Critical Reading: 67-800, 66-800, 65-790, 64-770, 63-750, 62-740, 61-730, 60-720, 59-700, 58-690, 57-690, 56-680...and so forth

Writing: 73 to 69- 800, 68-780, 67-770, 66-760, 65-750, 64-740, 63-730, 62-720, 61-710, 60-700, 59-700, 58-690, 57-680...and so forth

Grammer Sub Score: 49-80, 48-80, 47-80, 46-79, 45-78, 44-76, 43-74, 42-73....and so forth

Thanks for the encoragement citygirlsmom.

Everyone @ school was excited over my 1930 b/c a 2100 is like an amazing score at our school. I'm stll debating retaking it though.

Hmmm khalid, the math curve looks right. Not so sure about the verbal, since I haven't seen a 790 i think. Here this should answer it.

Anyone get a 790 on the Critical Reading section?

a clever riposte, but I still felt then as I do now. Anyone with a score that is the equivalent of 1400 or 1500+ should watch their words carefully when whining about how horrible their lives are.

Reading: 740
Math: 630 (I'm going to go cry now...)
Writing: 760
Essay: 11
Multiple Choice: 73

2130 total. =/

Just cause you haven't seen a 790 doesn't mean it isn't there. We'll wait a few days for all the scores to come trickling in as there are a lot of ppl who haven't got their scores yet.

hehe not everyone is a cc fanatic who posts their score the second they know it lol!

:)) happy beyond belief

total: 2400

hhahaha do i even have to tell u the individual scores?!
oh maybe
essay: 12
writing mc: 77/80
