Scores Optional?

The SAT and ACT are optional, right? Also, can someone explain the "sending any three test" shpeal?

SAT I and ACT are optional.

Three tests you have to submit (choose one from each category):
English- AP Eng Lang/Lit, SAT Writing (i'm assuming SAT I Writing)
Quantative- AP Phys/Chem/Calc, SAT II Math/Phys/Chem
Third test: anything else i.e. SAT II US History/Spanish....

THis is what the website says:

Candidates must submit standardized tests in at least three areas of study. The requirement may be met by submitting either the ACT; or the SAT I administered on or after March 12, 2005; or three exams in different areas of study which may be selected, mixed and matched from either the SAT IIs, APs or International Baccalaureate exams.

Would it help to hear it from the horse's mouth? I work in the admissions office--you're all correct. You may submit the SAT I or the ACT or SAT II, AP or IB scores, as long as they are representative of the different subject areas. You may submit all three of one test or a combination. Or you can go all out and submit everything--Middlebury will look at the highest scores. Hope that helps!

Not a math/sci person at all, so i submitted the AP Eng Lang test, AP US History, and a SAT II language test...is that okay for admissions? I did take the math ic and iic in Nov and I suppose I could rush that if a math/sci is ABSOLUTELY needed, but I'm having doubts the quality of those scores =( Please advise!

Those should be alright, I suppose, although I do think they would like a quantitative test score. Maybe call the admissions office and find out.

yea, they do need quantitative score, which could be fulfilled by
SAT II or AP Math/Chem/Phys.
For exact info, check the website.

Thanks you guys, I'm def gonna look into it.
I'm feeling around a 680 for ic and iic, blah, we'll see, ha.
Goodnight!
