I think it’s fair to say that there are no absolute cut-offs — it depends on your athletic ability, how badly the coach wants you, what the other recruits look like, etc., and your GPA.
As far as transcripts, in our case, unofficial copies were fine throughout the process. Official transcripts were only sent with the official application – however, that was in September senior year for a LL a few days later. So, ideally, you’d like to have all your tests taken at the end of junior year.</p>
<p>From The Yale Daily News today; “Barbara Reinalda, head coach of softball, said the number of recruiting spots allotted to her team has also dropped over the last few years, from five to six slots per year to about four, depending on the number of players that graduate each year. She added that she does ask recruits with competitive grades to apply on their own so that she does not have to use one of her recruiting spots.”</p>
<p>This is exactly what i feared and wrote above in this thread. I guess it IS happening :(</p>
