Do colleges differentiate between 35.5 and perfect 36, even though both are 36 composite? Also, how important is the essay score? (Does it matter if the essay score is very low compared to the composite?)

Colleges don't even are about the difference between a 34 and a 36. Most colleges don't weight the ACT writing to heavily, but good writing skills are important. Colleges say the biggest complaint they have with their incoming students is writing quality.

So do colleges treat 35.5 the same as SAT 2400?

do they even look at the decimal or just the rounded number, it seems to me that there is soo much other stuff they can be looking at in your app than to figure out the exact decimal place of your score

^^Exactly. You won't be denied anything based on the difference between a 35.5 and a 36
