<p>Okay so Im really confused about the SAT's scoring system.
for every wrong answer you make, your points are deducted 1/4 of a point. So what about a situation when you do a section and miss 2 questions and skipped 2 other. How does that compare to 4 missed?
Lets say there are 25 questions in a section. Are the points deducted from 25 or 24.5 if you miss 2 and skip 2?</p>

<p>If you miss four questions then you miss out on the opportunity to get four points. If you miss two questions but skip two other questions then you don’t get two points and you lose .5 points.</p>

the score is deducted where it is left, right? meaning you can’t have a score of 24.5?
But then, if you miss four, and each worths 1/4 points. Isn’t 1/4*4 equals 1 point so the score should be 23?</p>

<p>If you skip four questions then you miss out on the opportunity to get four points - so in essence you lose them. If you skip two questions but miss two questions, you lose two points for skipping the two questions and you lose 2.5 points for missing the other two.</p>

If you miss four - 21/5</p>
<p>I originally forgot that if you miss one question you not only lose the 1/4 but you also lose the full point.</p>
<p>I think if you miss 4 question, you will get only 21 right. And then minus 4*1/4=1 more points. So why only have 20/25?</p>
