<p>Hey CCers, being transferred to a Scottish public school I'm kind of in a mix up. Over here, the teachers never really make transcripts because our "grades" are just from the exams that we take at each "stage", for example : I'm just finishing off 9th grade but i can't leave the school I'm at because the qualifications are only given out after the end of 10th grade exams. GPA is also not calculated due to us only relying on exams and classwork. </p>
<p>So, my question is : Should I try and figure out how to convert my Scottish grades to the american ones or just send my latest report card with a guideline/conversion to the american grades?</p>
<p>Just to confuse you I'll outline what Scottish grades are roughly equivalent to in the american system.</p>
<p>Scottish = American
1= A
2= A-
3=B
4= B-
5= C
6= C-
7= D
8= F</p>
<p>If anyone can help me out, i would really appreciate it.
P.S I'm going to apply to boarding schools this fall if anyone was wondering.</p>

<p>Each prep school application typically contains a school report with official transcript form. Your Scottish school, not you, will fill out this form and mail it, together with your official transcript, to the prep school. Your job will be to deliver this form on a timely basis to the registrar of your Scottish school. </p>
<p>The admission officers at top prep schools generally have wide ranging experience with different grading systems, whether they are employed by European, Asian, Latin American, or North American schools. For further information, go online and research the individual application requirements for each of your prep schools. </p>

<p>The Gateway to Prep Schools common application site (Phillips Academy, SPS, Deerfield, etc.) has a note that says, “Please check back in July if you are interested in applying for admission for the fall of 2013.” <a href=“https://gatewaytoprepschools.com/[/url]”>https://gatewaytoprepschools.com/</a> </p>
<p>Beyond that, your best bet is to check the website of any non-Gateway prep school on your list. </p>
