Mine was another uninspired choice. My D's strongest area and the one she has done the longest is (I know the suspense is killing you) ..........dance! I picked it because I figured there would be lots of posters who'd choose names with the words theatre or theater. I thought they'd already be taken, so I picked a name I hadn't seen on the forum.

Okay, the real reason is that I was in a hurry to post when I found the forum two years ago and I didn't use any imagination. There. I've confessed and I feel better.

I feel so inadequate when I see names like Tututaxi, Emeraldkity (though I think I'd like EmeraldCity better), Angst, Helicoptermom, Thesbohemian, TheDad, Texastaximom, Ellemenope (pronounced L,M,N,O,P) :p etc.

CLUELESSMC2 whoa --- long answer!
When I found this forum about January in my sons sophomore year it was an answer to a prayer. My husband and I both college athletes, who knew little about the arts we were at a loss what to do with this kid. When my son was in grade school and teachers at conferences would tell us he had a wonderful singing voice, I being tonally clueless thought they were in essence saying, Well this kid is a real handful, but since this is Minnesota we have to say something nice about the kid so well say he sings nice. Yes, he was picked in nursery school to play the part of the singing Little Engine that Could, and he was given a song to sing in the non-musical school play, but this is Minnesota and people HAVE to be nice right? So with a daughter majoring in physics and a son saying he wanted to pursue a career in MT what else was I but a CLUELESS MASS looking for light SQUARED E=mc2 is a version of Einstein's famous Relativity equation. I didnt really think about it, it was just how I felt. Thanks to all of you and wonderful advice my son feels he has found the perfect program for him.

Not that this is a competition, but CluelessMC2 - you get my vote. I LOVE the explanation of your name. I laughed out loud. Always a good thing. Remind us where your S is headed.

a.c.bay. is her initial, my initial, and we live on the lake, plus enough periods to have eight characters . Very inspired and original, I know. Cluelessmc2 has my vote, too!

I've been reading this CC thread for ages but couldn't write until I could come up with a half decent name.

a.c.bay: You wouldn't happen to live in a village populated by rockets would you? If so, that's my original hometown (we moved when I was 15). There's a house on Oakmoor that I always tell my daughter is the "future home of the Mezzomom Memorial Museum".

If not, please disregard this cryptic post :D

"new"--when I started this I was totally new to all of it--the college stuff and also the theatre stuff--my D had only done theatre for a year and a half at that point. But also because we our city's first syllable is "new." And the mt and mom are like everyone else.

Even though I used to write headlines for a living, I gave myself a really unexciting name here. I chose "artsy" because it describes my D -- the passion for musical theater that we know so well, but also really into things ings like creative writing and photography. If I had it to do over again, I might be...oh, let's see...how about harmonious? ExpresSing?worldlywhys? humancheckbook?

My brother's nickname for me when we were kids + my initials! Hope the rest of you senior moms out there are "hanging in"...........I will be so grateful when this process is over. Those who have only had to deal with the traditional college application process just don't get it. Thank goodness for CC!!

We are new posters but have followed this wonderful thread for the year and a half our D has prepared and gone through the audition process. The screen name MTnesters is probably applicable to most parents who post here - remembering the hours of transporting our kids to dance and voice lessons, the thrill of our kids landing a role or building them back up on those they missed. The realization that next Fall we'll all be MTnesters is something that's starting to set in. I'm sure it's harder on the parents than our kids!

That is absolutely the most fantastic screen name - EVER!!! Our S is our last, so we will also be mtnesters! Gosh, I admire (and envy) clever people like you!

Boring... daughter's initials plus "mom". When start looking for schools for myson, I will have to come up with a new name ( can you do that??) and this time, I will be a bit more creative...
