Screenwriting allowed for creative writing supplement?

I'm considering submitting 1 or 2 short scripts as creative writing supplements. I'm unclear on whether only traditional prose counts or whether I can indeed submit scripts.

Y includes a workshop on playwriting in their CW offerings:

[Department of English | Yale University](<a href=“Welcome | English”>Welcome | English)

So, you think scripts would be okay to submit, then?

Plays are considered CW as much as poetry or fiction, so yes, I think it’s fine, just be sure they’re good ;).

They are actually short film scripts (two 5-page scenes/films), but hopefully that’s the about the same in their eyes. :stuck_out_tongue: Thanks!

I wouldn’t submit scripts. I’d submit excerpts along with a synopsis or some contextual explanation. No one is going to thumb through several pages of text. That’s a sure way to get it put back into your file unread.

Well, they are stand alone and don’t need a synopsis or contextualization. What about one 5-page script/scene? Still too much?
