Can anyone give me an idea of what LMU's acceptance rate is for the screenwriting major in the film school? I'm an IB student, so if anybody can tell me what they'd look for in that criteria (or in GPA and SAT results), it would be helpful.

im sure what there stats are for the screenwriting major, I applied screenwriting early action and im still waiting to hear. Did you apply ealry action as well?

I applied to Chapman EA and LMU regular rolling, too, that's funny.

I'm having the same issue with Chapman, I know the film school is super selective and I get scared seeing people with better stats than me get rejected from Dodge College, but I'm just a normal psychology major ...staring at the 53% acceptance rate listed drives me crazy because I don't know if my chances will be higher or lower.

I am a freshman at LMU and attending their screenwriting program. My stats weren't stupendous, but I don't think that the film school is terribly selective either. I think once the University has accepted you and if the film school still has availability, then you're pretty much in. Nevertheless, I would tailor my essay towards your desired program of interest. I wrote about the reasons for my interest in film and screenwriting and sort of developed a character building story why I think I should get in. I'm very happy with their school, but I do intend to transfer to USC come my junior year. I wasn't terribly comfortable with the area either, but now that I have traveled back and forth through the area, I've realized that I can put up with it if the compensation is attending the best film school in the country.
