Screwed everything up?

I submitted all my application and supplements to USC on the deadline but I made a huge mistake. I forgot to send in my SAT scores and I only sent them just now... : ( I also applied under digital arts and animation and they require 3 recommendation letters. I planned on getting one from a teacher, my counselor, and a teacher I had during the summer... But my counselor only sent in the school report and another one didn't even bother to send in a recommendation letter... And he hasnt emailed me back...

Is the school report my transcript? If not I haven't sent that in either... So I am missing my sat scores and two recommendation letters... I didn't read the FAQ where they said everything was due before the 1st deadline.. I am miserable and I spent so much time writing my supplements and pouring so much time in my portfolio... I assumed I've ruined all chances for myself? I already sent the sat scores as soon as I realized but now I am just trying to get my recommendation letters in through snail mail even though it's passed the deadline.... Is there any hope for me? :(

I’m not 100% sure but I think the slightly late SAT score is okay, are the letters of rec sent off now? And you have the required number? I would recommend you phone them and explain, remember they’re human too and ultimately they do want to read your application so it’s worth speaking to them.
I hope it all works out!

The letters of recommendation are still missing. I feel so dumb… I am trying to scrounge up another one by tomorrow or by the end of this week at the latest… But I feel so hopeless. ( > <) I sent SCA and email hut I’ll phone them tomorrow too…

Also can some answer what a school report in? I’m guessing my transcript is late now too… I am a mess. :((

I think that once you have submitted the email addresses of your teachers and counselor you are fine. It’s not up to you anymore. I read somewhere that it often happens that they submit letters later than the student’s application. Neither my teachers and my counselor submitted theirs yet.
And I think it’s fine also for the SAT scores. Many applicants have taken the December sitting so their scores won’t arrive exactly on the time of application anyway. The important thing is that you have submitted your common app and your materials. The December deadline is for cinematic and a few other majors and for scholarship consideration, but I think that USC generally review your materials only when the department you have applied to has reviewed your additional materials in order to approve your acceptance to that specific major or, if you didn’t get in, in order to decide whether admit your as an undeclared or not.
If someone knows more, please tell us 'cause, otherwise, I am in big troubles, too. xD

I think as long as the common app and supplement are in on time you should be okay, as long as the other stuff is sent in as quickly as possible. Talk to your school, they should be the one doing your school report and send the transcripts in as soon as you can. I think phoning them is best, it shows you really want to apply and you can get an immediate answer. Again, I hope it all gets sorted our!

You are fine. There are many stories like this, and as long as your application was in on time, USC is very understanding. They WANT to consider you. Do contact your admissions rep (the one at USC - you can look this up on their website) if you haven’t already. Be professional and calm, and let him/her know you are working on it.

If you’re sending by mail your recommendations and everything, you need to print the school report and give it to your counselor to fill. It’s on the common app website. I’m also missing that but I don’t think it will be a big problem if you send it this week. If your counselor is submitting it online then you don’t need to do anything. Just contact USC and explain. After all, your recommendations are not up to you. What YOU had to do, you did it on time. Good luck!! :)

My S forgot to send in his SAT scores when applying last year and didn’t notice it until after the deadline and it was very late like in January if my memory serves me correctly. He misunderstood and assumed that his school’s college guidance office sent it. He obviously wasn’t paying attention during their college seminar class, lol. Anyway, he called USC and explained the situation and they were very understanding. He “rushed” the scores. He was accepted and is a freshman now. He is in one of the talent majors so I am not sure if that had anything to do with it too.

Thanks for all the replies… I called admissions and they said it was ok to turn them in a little late. The guy is still hasn’t responded to my emails that I sent so I am a little worried… But I have a backup teacher that said he’d write another Rec for me in case the other guy falls through… As for transript my counselor told me it was already sent and USC counselor said late SAT score is ok as well…

I’ve calmed down considerably but I would have much preferred bot. To go through this panic haha… Thanks for all the advice I appreciate it!! :)

Get someone else to write that Letter of Recommendation asap. Make sure they have a current “brag sheet”/resume/etc.

Good Luck…our D is a happy freshman at USC. I know how stressful this can be!
