do you mean kalen porter or whatever?

nono...lol, the Canadian_idol from this CC board...anybody remember him?! He's in Harvard now. ^^

sorry, i don't, what's his name and what were his stats? I initially thought you meant ryan malcom or kalan porter. You had me stunned there for a moment.

i can't remember all his stats...

but search for "canadian_idol" in the OLD forum...he's there.. he got 1600 SAT and 44/45 IB mark...

Canadian_Idol's stats: the things i remember...lol

1600 SAT
800's SAT IIs
Research also, National Science Fair Gold Medallist
Volunteer for Children's hospital
Captain of school soccer team (1st in BC?)
IB director/Student Council
MUN/ Student Ambassador something...

I think ya....

thanks, and they say 1600 is bad....

? i meant old SAT...^^

yea i know, what i meant was people say a perfect score is bad cause harvard likes to brag about how many 1600's they reject every year.

Harvard says they reject about 50% of 1600 scoreres each year. That means that statistically you have 1/2 chance of getting in if you have a 1600. Not bad.

That kind of thing is said by those with crappy SAT scores to make themselves feel better.

obviously, and they actually accept 60%.

Of course you hate IB...
HL math, chemistry and english together, and on top of that hl biology; you might as well have started at harvard instead of IB. If your grades are anywere near what you claim they are now when the exams are over I don't think you have any trouble getting in anywhere. Just make sure you get 7,7,7 in your higher levels.

It matters not how well the Canadian system prepares you for US colleges: that is not its job. Admission Officers are not looking to compare you to US students in terms of grades, ECs, or SAT scores. They're looking to see how well you've taken advantage of the opportunities you have and how you rank compared to other students in your school/city/province.
