Alright guys, I'm not exactly a senior yet and I haven't already applied to colleges but I want to set for myself a realistic goal. I screwed up freshman year as I didn't really realize what a "good grade" was, and was perfectly content with Cs and Bs.

I'm neither an underrepresented minority, nor am I a nationally recognized politican. I'm not a varsity athlete, and I haven't performed groundbreaking research, but I have a few more variables left to push and I'd like CC to steer me in the right directions.

Freshman year GPA (Weighted): 86 (3.1)
1 Honors (Physics), Regular everything else (did very poorly in Latin I) [79]

Sophomore year GPA (Weighted): 94 (3.9)
2 Honors (Chemistry, English), Regular everything else (did very well in Latin II) [97]

[Currently in] Junior Year GPA (Weighted): ???
3 APs (Biology, English, Government and Politics), Regular everything else

[Planning on taking] Senior Year GPA (Weighted): ???
4 APs (Possibly more, but Environmental Science, Art History, Econ, English).

I'm planning on getting 5s on all my APs this year. I feel like that's well within my abilities (the APs I'm taking this year are not my weak spots).

I took my SAT but await my scores. I'm hoping to eventually score very well, but I just took it for the first time and I feel like with enough drive, I can score pretty well. My goal is above a 2200. I plan on taking both biology subject tests, the USH subject test, and a math subject test (but likely Math I because I feel I'd do better than Math II)

My ECs would involve Model UN and Youth and Government since I was a freshman. I've won "Outstanding Delegate" in the NJ Youth and Government program, and I've been selected to attend the "Conference on National Affairs" for Model UN, a privilege granted to about 30 or so people in the 1000 or so strong program. I plan on running for officer positions this year.

I also do FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) in school, and may be able to get an officer position next year (senior year). As of now, I'm just an "intern". I also do Interact (a volunteer thing where you help out with special ed kids, go on walks for hunger, etc.)

That, and I got cum laude on the National Latin Exam. Woo!

On Naviance my current weighted GPA is a 90 (I assume it to be an average of Freshman and Sophomore years weighted GPA) and I was wondering what colleges I should be considering.

The first college that comes to mind is Northeastern, but I'd really like to attend U Michigan. I realize that with my freshman year GPA, the absolute highest I'd be able to get my weighted high school GPA to be would be a 92-93 (3.7-3.8) but that's with some luck. I don't think I'm screwed, but I'm not in the position I want to be!

I was wondering if CC could give me any advice on which colleges I should look for/what I should do? I think I'm winning the EC battle but I'm definitely losing the GPA battle.

*I'm not quite sure of my unweighted GPA, as I'm only going off what it says on Naviance!

Thank you all!
