Screwed OVER FOREVER

I was originally thinking of going to UCR and then like i read all these reviews about how that place "scamed" them out of there money but i also hear like "ooo riverside is all hick ville and like the city is dead: but like im thinking that i am going to UCR to study not take a vacation. And i HAD the option of going to a CC until i got accepted to a UC (sc, m, R) and then now that i tell my parents that i wanna go to a CC that it is very stupid of me. I just want some feed back as to whether or not UCR is good. And by good i mean like is the bioengineering program any good. I dont care about the social life. I am not gonna have any with the major that i am doing. i just want the truth and i dont want any of those riverside haters either. I hope to then go to a good grad school like harvard or Johns Hopkins for med school. At first i thought this place might be like a fresh start for me seeing that all i did was screw around in school but now i dont know really what to think at all. I have appealed UCI as well as UCSD but iono I PRAY TO GOD THAT THEY RECONSIDER ME. all mr fiends got into awsome schools and i am at the bottom of the barrel. EVERYONE THINKS I AM DUMB and i know i am not dumb its just i am too lazy too often. I just feel like a pile of horse ****.

Any feed back would be greatly appreciated

Heh, you sound a lot like me. If I were you, I'd go to Riverside, although Santa Cruz and Merced are good schools too. Really, UC is arguably the best public school system in the nation, so you really can't go wrong.

If I were you, I'd just go to CC and get good grades and then transfer to a different, more prestigious UC. Even if you get a 3.2 at CC, you have a good chance at getting into Davis, Santa Barbara, and Irvine or other private schools. Riverside is sort of a dead end because it is very difficult to transfer from one UC to another. You save a lot of money by going to CC as well.

Also, going to Harvard or Johns Hopkins would be an extreme reach no matter you're grades at Riverside.

my parents wont let me go to a CC at ALL

What SFgiants says is right. You'd be better off going to a cc and then trying to get into UCSD which has a really top bioE program or another top UC if you want a top med schol. If you help your parents understand that, they might see things differently.

well myare persian (as strict as asians) when they mean no they mean no. and like if i do go then every day they will give me **** for not going to UCR

Have you tried explaining to them it's better to go to a CC first? That it's much easier to transfer to a higher UC from a CC instead of UCR? Try telling them that. Make your own decision.

i was looking at the OCC honors thing and i am really really interested in doing it over UCR......now i have to wait until my cousins and uncles and parents are at dinner tonight for me to be able to explain ......God willing they will let me

When u transfer do they look at your highschool grades or no? because i got a d my seventh semester and i might get one in my eighth as well. But i WILL get a 4.0 at a CC (just trying to get confidence) and i want to tranfer to ucla or ucsd

Persian...you mean Iranian? Middle-Easterners are pretty under-represented...

persian and iranian are the same thing buddy bu thats besides the point

You got into UCSC? Go there!

they dont have bioengineering
