Screwed up Major Selection! Help! Please!

Hi!!!

So I am a Psychology Major, however, my first choice is UC Irvine.

I applied but instead of putting Psychology and Social Behavior, I put just Psychology.

WHAT should I do? Im kinda freaking out!!!!

All my pre-req's are for Psychology and Social Behavior!!!

Thanks!

Call admissions, this could be a big deal!

It should be easy to get change majors if you get in.

@iTransfer, they have different pre-reqs and are under different schools. Also, PSB is easier to get into at UCI.

might want to call. transferring majors usually isn’t a big deal once admitted, but the pre-reqs at admission may screw you.

Call them ASAP.

My first choice is UC Irvine as well and I had a similar problem, but it had to do with my alternative major. You can give them a call or take my word from what I heard from them. The alternative major I put was Biological Sciences, but I should have had it be Public Health Policy. I called admission and told them my mistake and they told me to wait until I receive my UCI net id (comes in a couple weeks) and send a message through the message center stating the problem. They said it was relatively easy to do that in the application process and more likely than not they’ll make the change. You should receive a message back confirming the change if it is accepted. I don’t see why your situation wouldn’t apply to mine either even if mine was my alternative major. I actually sent a mail in letter to the UC application processing service center, but it’s probably too late for you to do so… but it should be fine. All they do is forward the message to UCI anyways. If you were wondering, my first choice major is Public Health Sciences. Hope this helps…
