Screwed?

Hello everybody, I am a junior from Vancouver, Canada. I've been recently looking through my options for post-secondary education and had just realized how screwed I was. Before browsing through information about American schools, I had never realized that AP is offered throughout the different years of secondary school (my school only offers it at the senior level). Now given that, it would mean that I have absolutely no raise if my weighted GPA of my sophomore and junior years was to be counted at Cal. How screwed am I going to be due to this unavailability?

On a side note, my unweighted GPA would be 3.93, I have registered to take my SATs in June and I will be taking my SAT II's in October.

mm..chill. Not all schools offer a lot of APs, and admissions office considers that. Your UW GPA is quite good. So do your best on SATs and other stuff, and you should have as good a shot as any. Admissions can be pretty random after all.

I'm sure that Cal will take into consideration the fact that your school only offers AP classes to seniors. If you're worried, you can add that fact into your application. There's no point worrying about it now anyway -- I'd focus on doing well on the SAT tests and other parts of the application that you can control.
