Scripps College

Hello, I was just wondering what my chances are for Scripps College ED! I recently turned in my app...and i'm really nervous to hear the final decision.

Well, here are a few stastics:
Scripps acceptance rate: 36% while avg. ACT score: 29 composite

Mine:
GPA: 4.1 Weighted
ACT score: 28 :(
Great teacher recs.
Extracurriculars: Environmental club/campaign advisor. (I work around the city to advocate for environmental issues/natural preservation. Therefore, I founded a club at school. About 300 hours of community service from that and received a medal from US congress for my efforts.)
Hospital Volunteer: Where i'm president of the youth volunteer unit
Cross-Country running: Varsity
Track Runner: Varsity

I also hope to study the environmental sciences if I receive admission. It really interests me and i'm super passionate about it...Hope all goes well :/

Would it be a reach school for me?? I’ve barely had any B’s except for Freshman year…and a few here and there, other than that: I’ve been SUPER involved with environment issues. Leading environmental campaigns. Hosting events. Fundraising over $5000 in donations. Honored by U.S. Congress. Advocated for preservation of a 510 acre land-- and we pulled through! This, I guess, was very important to me…and I hope that it’ll reveal my passion for the environmental sciences/govt. policy…what do you think my chances are though? I know my ACT score is on the lower side.

Are you also applying to Pitzer due to your major? Apply to both in addition to a few more safeties.

If you really are unhappy about score, then take it this weekend. Only send scores if better than original.

Good luck!

Thank you lacrossemom! I’ve actually alreadu sent in the app because of early decision…my chances seem very thin though because of my ACT score. However, I did have good essays and extracurriculars…

Yes! I will be applying to Pitzer. Recently interviewed there and I love the vibe! However, I like the whole “women’s college” atmosphere. I met the students at Scripps and I feel like I fit there better.

I do believe it’s a stretch though. :(

Did you get in??!

I got deferred! :(
