I am currently at that lovely stage of college selections where I have two wonderful schools to choose from, and cannot seem to decide on one of them for more than an hour at a time. I have visited both schools, Scripps and St. Olaf, multiple times, with positive impressions about the campus, people, and academic opportunities at both. Either would be a great fit. The price is even the same, after my financial aid. How can I break this tie? Help!

Do you have the winter wardrobe for St. Olaf, or could that be a budget buster? Go to Scripps and save that money.

Which is in a part of the country that you would otherwise never be likely visit or live in? Go to that college and stretch yourself geographically and culturally.

Which is in a part of the country that you could envision yourself making your career in? Go to that college so that you can begin to build those ties.

Love/Hate Scandinavian Lutherans? That will give you an answer about St. Olaf right there.

Wishing you much success, wherever you decide to go.

Thank you for your advice! Those are some really good things to think about. I did end up choosing Scripps, in part because of the weather. :-)
