SCS at CMU transfer

I am currently a sophomore at an un-ranked public university. I spent last year getting general education credit because I was unsure of what I wanted to major in. This semester I realized that computer science was the right major for me. I am only taking the 1000 level computer science course this semester because it was all I was eligible for. I have a 3.8+ college gpa. My highschool gpa is considerably lower. I was wondering what I could to do to increase my chances of getting accepted as a transfer to Carnegie Mellon's school of computer science. I was thinking about taking classes over winter, but should I do some sort of internship or other project instead? Please advise. Thanks.
