Hello,
I have a quick question regarding the waitlist. I was waitlisted for SCS back in March. Since then I have won first place in computer science in my states science fair as well as "Best in Fair" overall at the state science fair. In addition to this I recently won 2nd place for mathematics and computer science at the national Junior Science and Humanities Symposium Research Speaker competition in Washington DC. In your opinion, will these accomplishments matter significantly in CMU's decision while they evaluate the (priority) waitlist?
Thanks.

I would send it in. Every little things helps, right? Good luck with the waitlist. I’m also on the waitlist for CIT and MCS.

I’d send the information in. Number 1, the accomplishments are impressive and they objectively add to your resume. Number 2, sending in the information offers a legitimate reason for raising your name up. And number 3, I only see upside if you handle the submission respectfully and in a manner which otherwise reflects your outstanding credentials.

don’t you think they already decided on the candidates though? I mean why would they want to reconfirm with priortity waitlist applicants?

I wish I knew for certain so I could put you at ease, but my hunch is that as of today, May 4, CMU (and most Universities) does not have its 2018 class totally set.
