<p>Initially my son wanted CIT-ECE as first choice (wait listed). After going on the sleeping bag week-end, he thinks SCS is the best at CMU. Since he was denied at SCS, he does not want to see if he gets in on the wait list for ECE. Are the opportunities at CIT-ECE just as good as SCS or is SCS really the crown jewel of
CMU?</p>
<p>I’m not sure exactly what you mean as far as opportunities are concerned, but ECE is an excellent program. Obviously, CS and ECE are two distinct fields, but being in CIT would certainly not preclude your son from taking courses in the CS department and/or minoring in CS, if that is something he’s interested in.</p>
