SCU Class of 2024 EA Decisions

@allthesame1: Same here… I am assuming it will be updated by end of the month as mentioned in the letter.

Thx for the reply, best of luck to us

Daughter accepted EA to School of Engineering and named a Provost Scholar.
stats: 4.7 GPA; 11 AP classes; SAT: 770 E/ 790 M
Natl Merit Scholarship Semifinalist, lots of volunteer-related ECs but not one ‘wow’ standout, Girl Scout.
We’re thrilled - SCU is one of her top 5 schools. (Waiting for ED notification on Monday for UPenn.)
Best of luck to everyone!

So it looks like merit awards were noted in the letter? It sounds like financial aid will be available on the campus site?

Deferred - UW 3.59 W3.95 ACT 33 applied to COEN 3 APs completed with 3s and 4s, 5 in progress now. Varsity athlete, lots of community service, letter said they’d love to see my fall grades.

DD Accepted to Arts & Sciences. 4.5 W 3.97 UW, 31 ACT 1330 SAT. Varsity Sports, Club Sports, Com Service awards.

Accepted EA to CS in Arts and Sciences: 1510, 3.79 UW, solid ECs but not spectacular (summer nonprofit internship, 4 yrs robotics - current software lead, art docent 2 semesters, environmental volunteer work, lots of programming stuff on own, etc.), 9 APs plus honors classes.
Excited to be accepted BUT just got scholarship and FA info (email and info on eCampus) and won’t be attending: $6700 in non-merit based incentive grant. Bummer.

Congratulations to everyone! My son applied EA and was deferred with w 3.74 gpa and 1400 SAT. He has a lengthy resume, which includes Boys State, a lot of leadership and volunteering.

$8,300 in award. Can’t attend with that little aid. Does anyone know if we can decline and if they will counter ? Or this is it ?

Just got my financial aid award but there’s no mention of merit based scholarships. Does that mean I’m not getting any or is something coming at a later date because… I can’t afford this school. :frowning:

I would not decline this early. There’s a good chance you’ll receive more money later. I only received an Incentive Grant of 5,900, but am hopeful that I will receive some sort of financial aid later on.

Received email to login to eCampus. SCU offered $17,200/year in incentive grants. Was hoping for half tuition. Still very thankful but will wait to hear from other schools.

Accepted yesterday EA Bio. Financial Aid via eCampus: Dean’s Scholarship $18,000 plus incentive grant of $2,500. I was hoping for Presidential or Provost level but pretty happy with the Dean’s Scholarship. Barring a miracle (getting into Stanford, Rice or Vandy) I’ll be a Bronco next fall!

Accepted yesterday into Web Design and Engineering in the School of Engineering. Got in with low stats: 1300 SAT superscore and 3.97 weighted GPA. Got Jesuit Ignatian Award of $18,000 and incentive grant of $9084. If the financial aid package works out, I’ll also be a Bronco next fall in the Class of 2024!

@losername , Congrats! your scores please

@Whiskey6920, Congrats ! Your scores please

this is for future applicant:

Stats: Asia boy, California, 1580, 3.806 UW GPA, 6 AP all 5, 3 more in Senior year. applied CSE Major in Engineering school. 4 year varsity swimming and 4 year varsity waterpolo. $7900 incentive grant.

@guri123, 1520 SAT, 3.8 UW GPA, NM Commended Scholar, some EC’s but nothing spectacular, OOS, good essays, accounting major. One of 12 schools applied but only seriously considering 4 or 5 schools if accepted including SCU.

accepted to business school. 1450, 3.85. Got 16k incentive grant!

May I appeal the award offer?
Santa Clara University does not hold either need-based or merit-based scholarship/grant funds in reserve for appeals. All available funds are offered at the time of initial award. Very few appeal requests are granted. To be considered for appeal funding there must have been a significant change in your financial circumstances since the time you filed your FAFSA. The change in circumstances must be documented (for example, ongoing unemployment or excessive medical expenses not covered by insurance). Santa Clara University will not grant an appeal on the basis of higher award offers from other schools.
