Hey!

I applied to transfer to Santa Clara. So I was thinking we could post here when we hear back! Or post any questions!

Woo! Another transfer student! I’m anxiously waiting to hear from several schools, but SCU is one of my top three. I’m hoping my status changes to under review soon… It has said my application is complete for several weeks now.

I’m confused when we will hear back! Under the key deadlines tab it says February -April transfer students will be notified. But at ecampus log in it says by the end of May!

My application has been complete for just over a week. So I guess I have a while to wait.

Yeah, I’ve found that a lot of schools have different pages with different information. It’s a little frustrating. But I’m kind of just accepting the fact that I’ll just have to be patient.

Yeah I guess so! You will have to tell me when your application goes under review!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to stop by to say I was accepted about two weeks back as a transfer (I received my acceptance in the mail and the letter was dated March 5). I hope you guys hear from them soon too!

Not sure if I’ll be going since their financial aid award for me wasn’t too generous…how much do they usually offer in financial aid for transfers, I was wondering?

When did you have your application complete?

Do you mind talking about what you GPA was and that sort of thing?

I have heard they don’t offer a ton to transfer students, not sure though

Pinkblossom19- Sorry for all of the questions
Did it post your acceptance to ecampus?
Did it switch from “Complete” to under review or anything, before you were accepted?

Blueskies - I had my application completed around the beginning to mid-February. I heard SCU does rolling admissions for transfers so once everything is complete they’ll start to review your application. And my college GPA was about a 3.6 (not stellar but I did show improvements from my first year onto my second). I don’t know if it helps to say I’m transferring from a small liberal arts college in the Midwest. My high school GPA was okay (we didn’t have a 4.0 system at my high school). My ECs were so-so, did a lot in high school but only 1-2 clubs in college. I think what really helped was my letter of recommendation, because I was really close to my professors. I didn’t read them, but I’m pretty sure they were good. Let me know if you have any more questions!

Baseballluv - Oh no it’s okay with the questions! Yes my decision was posted on e-campus, and I also got an acceptance packet in the mail around the same time my decision was posted online. The packet is a large packet and on the outside it’ll say “Congratulations accepted first years and transfers!” And I didn’t have anything switch from “complete” to “under review”. One day it just said “complete” and the next day I logged in and it had the “Congratulations! You have been accepted to Santa Clara University!” along with a checklist of things I needed to do to confirm my enrollment. So if yours say its under review, then I’m pretty sure that you’ll be hearing back soon!

Good luck to the both of you!

Thank you so much!! That’s very helpful! Two last questions for you :)

How much aid did they offer you? And did they only talk about aid in your paper admissions? Or is it posted online as well?
Thank you so much for your help!

No problem!

About aid, they gave me around 20k which included loans. Give it that that’s a good amount of aid, but seeing that SCU costs around 50k a year, my parents would have to contribute the other 30k. My parents are divorced and I live with my mom, and she only makes around 18k a year. So they’re expecting her to pay nearly double what she makes annually, which makes it harder to finance going to SCU.

And about a couple of weeks after I got my acceptance letter, SCU sent me an e-mail saying that my financial aid award was available online. So it is posted online on e-campus, because I have not received anything in the mail about financial aid.

And of course, you’re welcome! I hope you hear back from SCU soon too ^^

Wow, that is hard! That is a good amount of aid, but I would assume that they would have given you more! I’m assuming you submitted your FAFSA?

Thank you so much for your information!
I completed my application on Feb 22nd so hopefully they get back to me soon!

1 month to go? :(

I called SCU admissions and they said decisions are typically mailed out 1 month after all docs are in. So bwwinthehouse it may be less than a month depending on when you submitted.

I wouldn’t rely on that though, because everything was in for me on Feb. 1, but I still haven’t heard anything…

Als926: Really?? thats strange! pinkblossoms19 indicated that they heard back in less than a month. What are your stats?? Now I am worried about not hearing back for a long time. I submitted my app Feb 22 and had all docs in by March 5th. So I was hoping I would hear back next week

I have a 3.7 with a few EC’s that I’m really passionate about and 2 strong letters of recommendation.

I would assume you’d get in right away! You clearly meet the requirements. What major did you apply for?

I’m a history major, so it’s not too competitive. I have high hopes, but I’m starting to worry about it.

So am I! Since they are rolling admissions, they could have already accepted all the people they are going to. I have a 4.0 and am a psychology major. I am getting pretty worried.
