Sculpture at HC

A well known arts foundation just donated seventeen Mid-Century Modern sculptures to HC to create a sculpture garden. This will, of course, undoubtedly impact how "frisbee golf" will be played on campus...

Also, as I have some downtime, here are a few links to some HC grads who are currently sculptors that I googled...

He made the "monster faces" piece by the swing set. As a side note, he modeled as the "little boy" in his dad's (Norman Rockwell) paintings.

Here's my suitemate from 1st year. He was also a soccer standout. He is currently commissioned by the city of Philadelphia to create a large bust of Franklin. His idea won the competition because it included a novel idea to get community "buy in". He is currently going around to local schools to get kids to donate old house keys to be melted down into the sculpture (this link between Franklin, keys and the community is genius in my opinion).

Even though HC is a great school, Beth was one of those people so talented I scratched my head to ask, "Why are you even here?", when she was at HC.

He's one of the artists being considered for the Trade Center Memorial. He's an artist who uses glass and I think his idea of using broken glass for the memorial is very poignant.

i hope no animals were hurt in the process.
