guys i’m so scareddd i’m not gonna get in…and it’s so possible. but i can’t think of anything that i’ve ever wanted more. and i can’t find any other alternative even SLIGHTLY appealing. trust me, i’ve tried to convince myself. ughhh i hate this… i know theres no sense in worrying about it but it wont go away!!

hehehe "and i can't find any other alternative even SLIGHTLY appealing."

i kno what you mean, definitely... but just take a deep breath and tell yourself grad school is what's important, you can transfer later maybe, or you might end up really hating it. i have a few friends @ penn (and other ivies) who are so completely swamped w/ work.. they hate it..(on the other hand i have a few who love their schools, but still....)

Ahhhhhhhhh We're Alll Screweeeeed! Omg I Bet Im Gonna Get Deferred! Then Ill Just Be Twice As Screwed.

yo isn't getting deferred so terrible? they're so mean.. it's just agony for another few MONTHS... hey does anyone know deferred--> acceptance rate?

deferred is still better than rejected, although id totally go crazy with the waiting

my brother was deferred and then accepted, i dont know how he did it

15% of deferred students get accepted, I believe.

my brother was deferred and then accepted, i dont know how he did it

did he do anything at all. like keep notifying admissions on his current accomplishments etc.? keep up strong grades for senior second semester??

he sucked up his pride and STALKED them. seriously. he sent in an extra letter of recommendation from the person in charge of one of his ec's, sent in a paragraph saying that penn is still his first choice, updated grades, and a copy of an award he got. i know they say that being too aggressive can be bad, but i think it was better than just sitting back and leaving it up to luck.

awesome, some stalking is in store for me (provided i don't get rejected..)

15%? It's more like 3-5%. The deferred students are all clumped up and then reviewed again after the regular decisions have been made for the regular applicants. Thus once the committe gets through with the thousands of regulars, then they go over the deferred ones last, and usually since they've already filled up most of their space they won't take too many more.

Are you sure azn? I remember reading on the archives that for deferred students it is about 15%.

i read somewhere that like while a third get in ED, overall 42% of the ED applicants get in ? Was that a dream or something?

i would like to reassure myself by saying i think i heard the same thing as g0ld
