Transfer rate was 19% for transfers in 2019, yeah
Itās 37% for Freshman admits, 19% for transfers at sdsu and slo is about a 16% transfer admit rate.
oh snap
Just got my green check! Hope all is going well for you
My green check just updated as well, hopefully thatās a good sign!
Hopefully this means that decisions are coming out next week!
Yes, thatās what Iām hoping for! You never know, maybe even the end of this week.
I got a green check now too!
Do they have a history of releasing transfer decisions at the same time as the freshman ones?
Hi, my dd got her acceptance last week on Wednesday. She is a transfer from SoCal CC. Hopefully more will come tomorrow. Good luck!
Updated to a green checkmark for AD-T
Iām not sure, I feel like freshman admission decisions typically come out first. I also feel that itās been pretty random as well, so weāll see.
Has anyone gotten a admission decision since the last wave?
I have not
If Iām not mistaken, ADT transfers hear back later because of the preliminary verification deadline being March 15th.
Gosh, I havenāt been on College Confidential in years.
Was just curious about this thread since my son was admitted 10 days ago into the pre comp lit major, but heāll be changing to Japanese once heās there. He also emailed admissions because he had listed 2 lit classes for spring 2022 at his local CC, but he didnāt take them and instead, took Japanese 101. He decided to make the change at the last minute after it was too late to update admissions. Fortunately, SDSU said it shouldnāt be a problem as long as he maintains his GPA (about 3.7 or so).
Admitted Transfer to Envir/Earth Science.
Anyone know about the process to secure Transfer Housing at SDSU? Are we guaranteed? Housing seems to be a problem at alot of campuses now. Trying to sort thru while waiting on UCs too.
Donāt wait on housing once you know where you are going to go. No guaranteed housing for transfers at sdsu and the market is very tight with most near campus communities 70% full already with only shared rooms still available. Most complexes do some form of roommate matching. There is also a face book sdsu pb housing page where people post for roommates.
The overall transfer admission rate at SDSU has been 23%-29% over the last several years, but it varies from major to major.
I calculated the rates for two sample majors from each college (from Applications by Major ā Analytic Studies & Institutional Research):
That is great info. The problem is the local priority takes up a significant portion of the admits. If you are local, you can TAG (transfer admission guarantee) to SDSU with a very low 2.5 GPA and knock a higher GPA transfer out of an admission spot. Not all majors accept TAG but if, for instance, they plan to admit 20 students as transfers and they get 20 local TAG apps for that major that leaves zero spots for higher stat transfers even if they have 4.0s and all the prerequisites done. I suspect that is why you see some high stat transfers getting denied from time to time. This happens when the open spots were filled up by locals with lower GPAs but a guaranteed admission.
