Is there any way I can get into SDSU with a 3,920 eligibility index?
Since the average EI is 4459 for last year’s applicant, the odds are against you but there is always a chance. All you can do at this point is wait for your decision and hopefully you have some backup schools.
Do they look at gpa, what classes youre in and extra curriculars? I would assume so but I’m from MA and take most APs and have heard they dont count harder classes out of state. My weighted gpa is much much higher and I have a lot of extra curriculars that I thought would help me.
They look at your a-g courses and grades, CSU capped weighted GPA and test scores. EC’s are not considered.
You are admitted based on your eligibility index and major. You are ranked based on your EI within your major and admit from the top down.
For OOS applicants, only AP/IB classes are considered for the extra weighting taken 10-11th grades only and capped at 8 semesters. Since OOS applicants are considered in a different application pool than in-state, a lower EI could be accepted depending upon your competition.
Like I stated above, all you can do is wait for a decision which should be posted within the next few weeks. Nothing you can do at this point.
Im still a junior in highschool so I am just preparing myself. I plan to major in Health Science and am trying my best to bring up my GPA although I know I cant do much now. As a freshman I got a 3.0 but sophomore and junior im at a 3.8. I wish freshman year did not effect it lol.
@katemarinchev only grades 10 and 11 count for the CSU GPA.

I calculated my gpa using that calculator and it says a 4.1. Is this site accurate?
The site is accurate if the input is accurate. Just remember as an OOS applicant only AP/IB classes taken 10-11th grades count towards the extra honor points and they are capped at 8 semesters or 4 year long classes.
If you are unsure, you are welcome to send me a PM of your courses and grades and will gladly confirm the calculation.
Also, please note that OOS applicants pay full fees.
There is no state funding for OOS students.
Assume full pay at~$42-$45K per year.
