SDSU Admissions Class of 2026

Thank you!! I saw this on their site about OOS students and was wondering what the stats were of those who received it. My daughter is applying next year OOS

SDSU Advantage Scholarship Program

A limited number of scholarships are offered to non-California resident students with strong academic records and engagement in co-curricular activities. The Office of Admissions will notify the recipients. Questions regarding this scholarship should be directed to the Out of State Admissions Office: prospective@sdsu.edu

I would contact them directly and ask. I have never seen anyone post they received this scholarship but CC is not representative of the whole applicant pool. I have seen some Recipients of the Webers Honor College scholarship previously.

Haha no worries!

D just got notification that she is waitlisted for Weber Honor College

My DS also got that same message. Any idea if kids get off this waitlist?

Unfortuantely I do not know those stats.
Wondering how they assign housing when they want Weber students to live in Zura, but waitlisted kids may not hear whether they are accepted or not until mid May.
I’m sure it all works out though.

I don’t know the process for waitlist for WHC but whether you are in it or not you don’t find out who your roommates are until a couple weeks before school starts. Over summer students fill out profiles that SDSU uses to match you with roommates, so I still think there is plenty of time for them to put waitlist kids in Zura if/when they get off. Edited to say that maybe once May 1 SIR date passes there will be a much clearer understanding for WHC waitlists and kids will find out shortly thereafter.

Thanks! That is helpful information.

Do you have any idea when Parents Weekend is typically? It’s not posted yet.

Previous years, Family weekend was Mid-October.

This last parent weekend was the weekend of October 1st. Speculation is the next one will be the weekend of October 8th because SDSU will be hosting the football game at the new stadium that weekend.

Thanks, that’s exactly what we were discussing— which football game to attend??? So exciting to have a new stadium.

Being that we are from DC, it’s going to be tough to attend all that we would like, if she were closer.

We are heading to SDSU this week, then we just read on the New Students Admissions that she’ll need to attend in July for orientation and then back for start of school in August. I wasn’t expecting that trip.

We think we might skip parents weekend and go for Thanksgiving.

I think I need to buy a place in San Diego!

Sorry if this isn’t the right thread for this but does anyone know if you can ship dorm goods directly to SDSU, through one of those college shipping companies — who say they hold them then deliver boxes directly to the dorms on move in day?

If not does SDSU have time slots & carts available on move in day?

Thanks again for all the support.

Yes, the new stadium I think will be such a fun new experience, I know I am looking forward to it. This past summer the orientation all online, so I had no idea that was a requirement.

If you haven’t already, join the parent run page on FB. Invaluable resource and you can get all of your questions answered. I know I’ve definitely read that people use college boxes and that it worked well for them. I wouldn’t stress too much. San Diego has all the big box stores you could possibly need, plus people also use Amazon for any other miscellaneous items.

Yes, SDSU provides the big carts and time slots for move in day. They have it all down to a science, it was such a breeze, and so fun!

There are a couple of Facebook groups for SDSU parents that have been super helpful for these types of questions. I have leaned a lot already in a short time.
