Hi, I’m currently a senior and i am trying to get into SDSU for nursing. Im aware that their nursing major is impacted, so i don’t think i really have a chance with a low standardized testing scores. My eligibility index is 4296 with the SAT and 1054 for the ACT and a 4.17 CSU gpa. On my application, I put nursing as my intended and public health as alternate. What are my chances for SDSU?
The EI threshold for SDSU varies from year to year. An EI of 4300 is competitive, but since it is a direct admit program, the competition will be tough. Much will depend upon the stats from the other applicants this year and how many spots they have open (definitely no guarantees). I believe the acceptance rate last year was around 5%. Public health is a good alternate major. I know several students that went that route for nursing.
Good luck.
how would you go about that route for nursing? because i do know that SDSU doesn’t accept any transfers into their nursing program anymore.
According to the Nursing website, SDSU will accept transfers but it is very competitive.

The two students that were accepted into the Public Health major and then applied to the Nursing program have already graduated last year. Since nursing has changed their admission policy, this option may not be open to non Pre-Nursing majors. Based on the website, it looks like you have take all the pre-req courses needed to apply to the Nursing program, that you should be able to apply. If you have any questions, I would contact SDSU nursing directly.
From the website::::
The undergraduate nursing program is available to incoming freshman applicants, continuing SDSU students, transfer students, and second baccaulareate students.
Thank you! My chances getting into nursing are very slim, so hopefully i’ll be able to get in with public health.
