SDSU ADT transfer students

Can anyone tell me if they got admitted to sdsu through ADT transfer. Were you from a local community college of sdsu? GPA? Major? Any out of state residents?

Please share your experience as it would a huge help for me!

You might want read through this unfortunately long discussion for 2019 transfers:

Reading this discussion was the reason I started this discussion. Although i see a pattern that adt students are getting much better results but i feel i need to see more data because unfortunately most students only replied when they were nervous about being accepted but never came back and shared the results.

There are not too many posters that come back and update. Your best information should come from your CC transfer advisor since they have plenty of data available to them.

Can’t wait for the cc to be done with it’s holiday to do this step. Just thought gathering data myself would also help so all my questions are ready when i speak with the advisor.

@Gumbymom do you know if getting an ADT from a local cc matters to sdsu or not?

This is on the CSU website regarding ADT and local priority for all campuses:

Am I guaranteed admission to any CSU campus with an Associate Degree for Transfer?
No. The degree guarantees priority admission consideration to your local CSU campus to a similar degree available on that campus. It also guarantees junior standing upon admission and a maximum of 60 units remaining to complete the baccalaureate degree.

This is on the San Diego Mesa College website:

[quote]
An ADT does not guarantee a student admissions to a particular California State University, however, students who earn an ADT from San Diego Mesa College have an increased chance of admissions to San Diego State University, over those students who earn an ADT from colleges outside of the SDSU service area.

Truly appreciate your efforts to help me. Hopefully, the data from the advisor can help me take a decision.

I was admitted for Fall of 2018 with an AD-T in Business Administration. I’m a California resident but do not live in the San Diego area. I transferred from Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga. My program is with the College of Extended Studies, so I’m an online student. My transfer GPA was 3.87 and I brought over 64 lower division units. I was also accepted at three other CSUs but SDSU was my top choice. My acceptance arrived in April of 2018 and they had a financial aid package ready for me right away. The enrollment process was not entirely smooth; many people working at this school are very young and inexperienced, thus communication and procedures are not handled in the most professional way. Otherwise, my experience with SDSU has been positive and I plan to graduate in May of 2020.
Hope this helps!

Didn’t want to make a statement before i confirmed with multiple community colleges and counselors from SDSU. The policy regarding receiving local admission states that students should receive a minimum of 12 credit hours from a local community college in order to transfer via the local AST pathway. Also, the final 12 credits should be taken at the local college in which students plans to transfer from.
