The SDSU website says they only grade a-g courses. I’m confused on how it works. Do you send your transcript and they choose what classes to count? If you haven’t completed a year of a class do they count it? Any information on the SDSU application process would be great, thanks.
On your CSU application, you list all the a-g courses taken from 9-11th grade. All CSU’s will calculate your CSU GPA based on the self-reported courses and grades from 10-11th grades, but any a-g courses taken during Freshman year will be looked at for passing grade of C or higher. You need to fulfill 11 of the 15 required a-g courses prior to applying at the end of Junior year.
Senior year courses and grades are not considered for admission purposes, so these would be the only a-g courses not counted in the CSU GPA calculation. Once accepted, you will need to send your final HS transcript showing all the courses taken and self-reported including your Senior year grades/courses.
If you are a California HS student, you can look up your specific HS list of a-g courses on this link:

Thank you. I have 1 grade that is not so good in a 1 trimester comp programming class. Am I required to submit that on my application?
Is it an a-g course at your HS or at a community college? Is the course and grade posted on your transcript?
I live in minnesota. We don’t have a-g courses. It is on my transcript.
If the course fits one of the a-g course requirements/description (probably under category g) then you have to report it on your application. My son’s are California HS graduates and their Computer science courses were listed under category g. If you do not self-report the correct courses and their is a discrepancy between your application and transcript, your admission can be rescinded.
