How do they decide who to admit early? My D has a 4.05gpa and 33 ACT. She applied for philosophy. I see that kids with lower stats have been admitted but she has not.
I would continue to look over the week. They can come out in batches or at least they did when our eldest went through this. Most kids who would be eligible for the honors program should hear. Fwiw, we are local and my son has a CSU 4.1 and a 1400 SAT and has heard nothing either.
Accepted!

@Marcie123 I am no expert on college admissions, but maybe the other kids who were accepted were in a less-demanded major. Or perhaps they had extracurricular activities to boost their application. Or maybe they’re from a low income bracket. There’s a whole host of considerations, that the general public does not know and probably will never know.
My understanding is the school doesn’t consider any ECs. But rather admissions uses an Eligibility Index where applicants’ CSU GPA and superscored ACT or SAT are used to calculate this index. Thresholds per major most likely vary. The higher the index the higher the chance. I would say applicants should be patient and see what happens. It’s still very early in the admissions process. Good luck!
Does anyone know when Honors invites go out?? See someone commented that they received an email to apply.
@my2caligirls: In the past, the Honors college invites went out with the acceptance. Some times the invites did come a few days later so I would check the SDSU portal. You do not have to be invited to apply to the Weber’s Honor’s College. If you meet the criteria you can submit an application.

Are all the early acceptances given out already? I still haven’t recieved mine and I have an EI of 4600, instate and a Civil Engineering major.
Thanks for the info above. Had a look at my D’s admission email and the invite is in the video that was part of that email - easy to miss. It may also get spelled out more clearly in the admissions letter as well.
Congrats to all who have gotten their early acceptances.
I am kind of confused about why my high stats in-state son (undeclared letters and sciences) hasn’t gotten an acceptance notification yet. FWIW, his portal shows “Complete,” not “Pending” or “Accepted.” He submitted everything early. I guess we’ll just wait and see.
My D’s showed “pending” prior to “admitted” - not sure what “complete” means but probably worth a call to admissions to get a good answer.
Re your major comment - that sounds like a UC college reference . . . .but I could be wrong!! Anyways, recall from another thread your son is very high stat and sure he will be admitted if he is not already. Good luck and keep us posted.

@pickledginger: SDSU does not offer a Undeclared major in the College of Letters and Science it is in the College of Undergrad studies so not sure if you are thinking of the UC system. I cannot tell you why he has not heard. You might want to call admissions after the holidays and verify that his application is truly complete.
Gumbymom - can you shed some light on the early acceptance situation. Why does a school like SDSU send out early acceptance, but not a similar school like CSU Long Beach? Or the UC schools? Appreciate your insight.
