I really want to major in criminal justice, but I would much rather get accepted into SDSU for an easier major like urban studies and be fine with it. I am not sure if I should apply with Criminal Juctice as major or not since it is one of the hardest majors to get into.

GPA: 3.7
ACT: 31
Also is there anything else SDSU takes into account for admission
What Should I apply Under
SDSU admits by eligiblity index and major. Your EI is 1050 which makes you a competitive applicant. I would apply for Criminal Justice but that is up to you to decide. At SDSU, all students are admitted into a Pre-major status where you have to take specific pre-req courses with a minimum GPA to officially declare the major.
To change from Urban studies to Criminal Justice and to declare the major, you need to take the following courses and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.80 to declare CJ.
a. Complete with a grade of C (2.0) or better: Political Science 102; Sociology 101 and 102; and a 3-unit course in elementary statistics. These courses cannot be taken for credit/no credit (Cr/NC);
If you think you can achieve the GPA required, then you could apply with another major and switch.
