Sdsu? Csun, sjsu?

Applying to: SDSU (first choice), CSUN, SJSU for Fall 2011.

Major: Linguistics

Current School: CCC (De Anza College; in area applicant for SJSU)

GPA: 3.7 currently (after this term a 3.75 at least)

Pre-reqs: Done for SDSU, CSUN, SJSU

GE: Will complete CSU GE certification after fall 10.

Extras: Phi Theta Kappa member, Dean's list for the past 4 quarters

Only thing that I could see that could burn me is that I'm an out-of-area applicant for SDSU. Any recommendations for colleges that would give me aid and have a decent linguistics program with TESOL classes are welcome.

Being out of area will hurt you for SDSU since it is an impacted CSU campus but your GPA is high enough that you still probably have a better than average chance of acceptance. SJSU is also impacted but since you are in area you will not be adversely affected there and should have an excellent chance of being admitted. I do not think CSUN is an impacted CSU so with a 3.7 GPA you should be in there as well. I am assuming, I do not really know, that Linguistics is not a super competitive major like Communications.
