*SDSU Fall 2013 Transfer Student Official Decisions Thread*

I’m transferring from SD City College with a 4.0, got accepted to UCSD, but got rejected from SDSU. My boyfriend has a 3.0 and got into SDSU-- even getting an acceptance letter weeks before my rejection. My preference was UCSD (after UCLA, but haven’t heard back yet) but I was really disappointed! Just wanted to give some sort of support and perspective to those who also got rejected. Don’t let this rejection have a major negative influence re: your confidence and ability. Also, it’s possible your major was impacted, as many of SDSU’s currently are.

I’m a transfer student that was just accepted at SDSU under the International Security and Conflict Resolution Major. I’m coming from Mira Costa College in Oceanside so the fact that my major wasn’t offered at CSUSM helped me out. Now I’m thinking about changing my major to International Business or Economics, will that be an issue? I emailed the International Business department any they said I could put in a petition of change of major at any time but it doesn’t make sense to me. Why would they accept me based on my major and then allow me to change majors as soon as I get there? Interested if anyone has any information or experience with this question.

Just checked this morning and I’ve finally been admitted! Majoring in Finance, CC transfer from NorCal with 76 units, some of which are international. Overall 3.3 GPA but with an upwards trend (My CC GPA is 3.9). Time to go filling out that housing application.

Congrats jmathews!

Got accepted around 3/10, waiting on confirmation.
3.3 GPA,
International Economics major,
About 70 credit hours in.
Just working on my public speaking class this semester to finish requirements. Also got accepted and confirmed to CSULB for business economics.

Had an almost straight-F transcript from a previous community college I attended straight out of high school. Even had a failing semester at this current CC, but I retook everything, made decent grades, and now I’m golden. Excited to attend, can’t wait!

It’s almost the last day of March, so technically tomorrow is their deadline for the last decisions… The portal will be taken offline tomorrow at 5 and will be offline all weekend… And next week is SDSU’s spring break.
Am I the last person still pending there?

i didn’t even get in :D

@ SBVett, no. I’m still “pending” also. Have had no contact via email either.

Tomorrow is Good Friday. My experience with public/government employees is they skip out around noon (or a few hours early) for the weekend. They will be closed Monday, April 1st as well. But maybe they work next week.

Let’s hope for an Easter surprise tomorrow. :-)

Here’s a story that came out in a San Diego Alt-weekly paper. It’s about SDSU:

[San Diego State’s growing contempt for undergrads | San Diego Reader](San Diego State's growing contempt for undergrads | San Diego Reader)

@ heymei, so do you want to share your story? major, GPA, CC transfer or HS? Why didn’t you get in? Were you accepted at another CSU or UC?

Best of luck to you anyway. :)

@SBVett have you heard anything from SDSU yet?

Sent from my MOMO9-3

No, still pending :(

I’m still pending too…

im still pending too :(

Peeeending…

Still peeeeenddding also!

Is the admissions office working this week?

Monday, April 1 was Cesar Chavez Day. That is a state holiday in California and all (non-emergency) state employees are given a holiday, including San Diego State.

I called admissions last week and was told they plan to complete their decisions on AA-T/AS-T transfers this week.

I really do hope they finish by this week. The wait is nerve wrecking!

:/ pending…
Did anyone call sdsu to verify their AA-T/AS-T?

@maggyana i think your transfer counselor was supposed to call to verify… you were supposed to have sent your degree-works around late January/early February… at least that’s what my counselor told me…

I had my transfer center call sdsu because sdsu was asking my cc to do something they couldn’t do(verify online, somehow). After a couple of phone calls sdsu agreed to allow me to just send in my transcripts which verifies my AS-T.
Did anyone else do this?
