SDSU FALL 2019 Transfers

@polarrrize I got the same email around 10 today. Except mine says degree status “Complete, degree posted.”

Just one more step in the process. We’re almost there! Hopefully it means we’re closer to them deciding if we’re in or not.

@IsntThatSpatial Coincidentally my girlfriend got her undergrad in public administration. As for career plans I’m not 100% set on a specific career, but I’m still pondering different paths. I’m contemplating joining the Air Force, maybe going to law school, maybe working in law enforcement, it’s still up in the air. Yourself? Your username and your major make sense now.

Congrats to all admitted. I don’t know much about the ADT but I’m from northern california trying to transfer to SDSU. How helpful do you think the ADT is in getting admitted? Does it help your chances a lot, or is it mostly a high GPA you need?

I found out through the portal but a couple weeks ago. Is anyone going to the open house on the 23rd?

@KidCali Rad man. I def join the military if I were you. After that you will be set for everything including law school which is extremely expensive as I’m sure you’re aware. My wife was going that route but settled for an MBA.

I’d like to become a community college professor and / or work in GIS or anything related to our climate.

I’m from the torrance/redondo beach area so my CC was not local. I have about 80 units complete with a 3.12, an AST in business and SDSU takes up to 70 transferable units with all my prerequisites done. Admitted in business administartion marketing if this helps anyone out. Found out in the portal on the 25th

Lived in San Diego for a year and a half now. All my credits are from an out of state community college. Still haven’t heard anything. General Business major.

English major trying to transfer from City College – Received an email earlier this week saying that my ADT preliminary verification was posted as “in progress, will complete by Spring.” Admission status still pending in portal and still have red x by degree status (although it says to allow 5 days after the 15th for that to change). Any other local English transfers already accepted?

Any Communication majors out there? My son is an ADT and has not heard yet. Thanks!

@QsMom20
I posted this on the other thread to answer your question just copying it to this one for you.

However, even though most community colleges have verified their students receiving an ADT for SDSU we have been told by SDSU they click the update link on 03/15 which is the date the update must be completed.
If your S by chance is getting his ADT from Southwestern they waited till the last minute to upload the majority of their students.
We have been told to start keeping an eye out for Admit updates after 3/15

My S has his ADT info finally show as updated on 3/11 & he is still showing as pending as are the majority of other ADT from Southwestern students.

To compare my D was admitted on 3/5 to SDSU as a freshman.

Thanks! No his ADT is from Mesa and he is local. I hope that doesn’t mean bad news. Is your S a communications major? Congratulations to your D.

I think if you are transferring with ADT, today is the day that you will find out. Those majors without ADT’s (or if applying without an ADT) were released on 2/25. Someone was admitted under Comm Arts (?) in that first wave (is that the same as Comm?) @QsMom20

I’m transferring without an ADT and still haven’t heard anything… anyone else?

@dogrunner1 how do you know today is the day we find out about ADT acceptance? I am an AAT (Associates of Arts) transfer from a local community college majoring in English Literature. I’m going crazy every single day checking my portal to see my admission status still “pending” !!!

@badavis711 I’m an English ADT transfer from Grossmont College. Still haven’t heard anything yet. It’s driving me insane.

ADT is different than just an AA. It is a specific associates agreed upon by all of the CSU’s and if those courses are completed, you can apply with your ADT which has two major benefits. 1. You get slight priority admissions. 2. The school boosts your GPA .1. So i had a 3.71, but now will be seen as a 3.81. ADT students mostly havent heard back yet because the JC’s didnt have to submit whether ADT students were on track to complete until end of last week. Decisions for ADT students will be coming out soon, next week at the latest.

@katejo55 if you look back to threads from previous years it seems that the deadline for ADT submission is also the day that people started to hear back regarding their admission status (if not today then soon after) and today is the posted deadline for ADT’s as per the SDSU website. But I am just going by what I have seen in years’ past.

@QsMom20
My S is a computer science major.

My D is a political science major.

@connormcmahon3 how do you know we get a gpa boost?

@dogrunner1 I don’t think us ADT applicants hear back today. Although it would be nice.

@IsntThatSpatial but soon after today? Judging from the last few years posts it seemed like that!! Hopefully soon?
