I’m planning on majoring in mechanical engineering, and currently deciding between 3 schools, sdsu, ucirvine, and ucdavis. I want to go to a campus I’d really enjoy, have a good time at, and learn a lot. I dont want to go to a school that’s constant studying, but want to go somewhere with a pretty good balance between fun and academics. I visited davis, and I really loved the campus, but it didnt seem like there was much outside the actual campus.

Please help me in deciding where to go, im leaning toward ucdavis and sdsu, but any help or suggestions would be great!

I think you should post this in other forums, haha. x) Cause here, you'd only get one answer. x)

But seriously, Davis FTW. ;) Even though its a nice small college town (which is also really nice), Sacramento is like 15 mins away, and San Francisco is an hour away - its really accessible to large cities.

They also seem to have alot of fun there. :)

You will find more to do right at UCD than you will ever have time for. There are clubs for every interest, the greek system, one of the largest intramural sports programs in the coutry, internships (also one of the largest internship programs in the country, research in abundance, concerts, movies, (often times free) sports to watch incuding football, (26 D1 teams in all with all games free for students) the Aggie Pack, (the largest student athletic support group west of the Mississippi) a fun downtown with great restaurants, dorm activities and so much more. Perhaps you might find time once in awhile to go skiing at Tahoe or explore the Bay area and Sacramento.

UCD is a balance of the two schools. SDSU is a CRAZY party school--fun but it gets old and/or distracting. UCI is beautiful near newport beach!!! but it doesn't seem to have the school spirit and fun factor as davis. Academically--choose UCI or UCD
