SDSU Nursing Program

I’m a senior in high school and a currently a California Resident. I really want to get into the nursing program at state however I don’t know if my academics are competitive and stand out. I have a 4.1 GPA. And have taken Honors chem ( got A’s both semesters) AP biology ( B+ both semesters) and honors anatomy ( A both semesters) .
I did not really get a chance to volunteer at hospitals and all of that however I do volunteer 3x at my local church and currently have 130 service hours.i do other extra curricular as well, and I also work. My SAT is 1280. And will be taking ACT really soon.
I really don’t think my academics are competitive enough. What are my chances of getting in?

Is your 4.1 GPA, your CSU/UC capped weighted GPA?

SDSU Nursing is very selective so last years class stats are as follows:

Average CSU GPA: 4.04
Average SAT: 1345

Minimum Admission Requirements

Minimum GPA of 3.0 in A – G coursework
Minimum grades of B in Intermediate Algebra, Biology, and Chemistry with lab courses. If AP or IB level courses were taken in these areas, applicants must have earned a minimum grade of B.
SAT Critical Reading and Mathematics (old version) -or- SAT Evidenced Based Reading and Mathematics (new version) -or- ACT English and Mathematics.

I would try to bump up your SAT scores to be more competitive. Definitely worth an application but apply widely since all CA Nursing programs are highly competitive and impacted.
